Chaney Instrument - Long stream of problems
First sensor head died at 14 months. Warranty was 12. They changed upload software which caused many to switch computers. Second sensor head started burning through batteries every 6 weeks. It's always the consumer's fault when you contact them. I know how to install batteries, thank you. But a Davis. Better unit, better customer service

My station worked fine until you broadcasted a whole nrw service. I attempted to obtain it. It failed. Then you destroyed my password. Then you rejected my email. Now you block all my email attempts to get support. BIT OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW. email@example.com
AcuRite Weather Station Review
It took quite a few phone calls but Chaney Instruments did agree to replace my sensor. I returned the item at my own expense so they could analyze the problem. I was told that weather corrupted the sensor after more than a year of being outside....hmmmm...it is designed to be a weather station, right? Very happy finally that they did agree to stand behind their product.
After a year the anemometer wind sensor stopped working...all other functions ok. Customer service not helpful despite repeated calls for repair or replace.
Good luck with customer support - first one lasted 13 months ( 1 past warranty and had to buy another unit). Second lasted 10 months and they reused to replace - said part I had to replace on back order - then rest of system totally failed and they refused to replace....Read more
